The Competition

What Is The
Eco-Challenge?

The TGG Campus Eco-Challenge 2026 is Nigeria's first university-based environmental innovation competition, organised by Tilda Goes Green Foundation and proudly supported by MTN Nigeria.

Students at three Rivers State universities will identify real environmental problems on their campuses, research their root causes, and design practical, innovative solutions that universities and government partners can actually implement.

This is not awareness theatre — it is field research, engineering thinking, and real-world impact, all wrapped in a competition that rewards the boldest ideas with life-changing prizes.

Waste‑to‑Wealth

Driving Eco-Innovation on Campus

Every campus has waste problems — overflowing bins, inefficient energy systems, polluted water, lost biodiversity. The theme challenges you to look at these not as burdens, but as economic opportunities. Design solutions that are simultaneously green, practical, and wealth-creating for your institution and your community.

Participation Guide

How To Participate

Four clear steps from first observation to final submission. Every enrolled student can do this.

01

Identify The Problem

Observe and document a specific environmental problem on your campus — waste management, pollution, energy inefficiency, water issues, biodiversity loss. Look around with curious, critical eyes. Every campus has more problems than anyone is talking about.

02

Research The Causes

Investigate root causes through data collection, surveys, interviews, and scientific analysis. Build a factual, evidence-based case for the problem you have identified. Strong research is the foundation of every great solution — and every high-scoring entry.

03

Design The Solution

Develop a practical, innovative solution with a clear implementation plan, cost estimate, and projected environmental impact. Think creatively — the most celebrated entries will be the ones that are genuinely feasible and genuinely bold at the same time.

04

Submit Your Entry

Upload your full project proposal through this portal before 25th April 2026. You can enter as an individual or as a team. Text documents, images, videos, and data files are all supported. Registration and submission are completely free. Every qualified entry receives a digital certificate.

Who We Are

About Tilda Goes Green Foundation

Founded in 2018 by award-winning actress and environmental advocate Amb. Matilda Gogo Lambert, Tilda Goes Green (TGG) Foundation has spent seven years building Nigeria’s most impactful grassroots environmental movement.

With over 1,000 programme graduates, a UN-acknowledged documentary “Black Creeks” (acknowledged by UNEP), and strategic partnerships with INTELS Nigeria Limited — Nigeria’s largest logistics company — and multiple Rivers State government ministries, TGG has earned its place as a leading voice for environmental action in the Niger Delta.

The Campus Eco-Challenge is TGG’s most ambitious initiative yet: scaling impact from communities to campuses, and from campuses to national policy. Rivers State 2026 → South-South 2027 → National 2028.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate?

Any currently enrolled student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Rivers State University (RSU), or Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) is eligible to participate.

Can I enter alone or as a team?

Both individuals and teams are welcome. You can enter solo or collaborate with fellow students — whichever works best for your project. All team members must be enrolled at one of the three participating universities.

What kinds of problems should I focus on?

Any environmental issue directly observable on your campus — waste management, water usage, energy inefficiency, air or noise pollution, sanitation, biodiversity loss, and more. Focus on something you have personally witnessed with a real, measurable impact on campus life.

Is there a registration fee?

No. Registration and submission are completely free. This is TGG Foundation’s investment in Nigerian students who care about their environment. Your only investment is your time, curiosity, and effort.

What format should my submission be in?

A written project proposal is required, supported by images, videos, survey data, and any relevant research materials. The portal accepts text documents, image files, and video uploads. Full submission guidelines will be available upon registration.

When is the submission deadline?

The submission deadline is 25th April, 2026 at 11:59 PM. We strongly recommend registering early so you have maximum time to research, develop, and refine your project.

Where is the Grand Finale held?

The Grand Finale and prize-giving ceremony will be held in Port Harcourt in August 2026. All finalists will be notified well in advance with full event details, schedule, and logistics information.
